PATH provides individualized services and expert guidance to all job seekers in Washtenaw County, working with them to alleviate barriers to long-term, sustainable employment. We offer assistance to all individuals in our community, including resettlement clients and PATH participants, in their search for employment. JFS additionally provides vocational services, pre-employment training, placement and support to local jobseekers. Clients from a variety of backgrounds, occupations and levels of education benefit from our services.
This program is designed for recipients of public assistance and is structured to provide a fast and effective pathway from public assistance to gainful employment and self-sufficiency. Our program offers a variety of activities designed to accommodate individuals with various levels of English proficiency and diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
The PATH Program at JFS offers vocational English as a Second Language classes, and Job Search/Job Readiness activities including acquisition of necessary job search skills, job development, classroom pre-employment training, interviewing skills and supervised job search. Through this program, participants have access to support services that are available to help eliminate barriers to employment.

Resettlement Client Career Services
To accommodate the special needs of our resettlement clients, JFS has career services designed specifically for refugee/immigrant groups. The program offers a unique approach to pre-employment training and job development of participants. Career counseling for resettlement clients provides an understanding of the ethics and policies of the American labor market, enabling clients to comfortably enter the workforce. Facilitated by bi-lingual staff and volunteers, this program provides a sensitive and supportive environment in which participants may reach their potential through successful employment.
