April 6 @ 3:00 pm$240
Jewish Family Services of Washtenaw County is excited to offer a new program, Mind Aerobics—a workout class for the brain. Developed by the New England Cognitive Center (NECC), the program uses games and activities to target reaction time, visual and spatial abilities, attention and concentration, memory, language, and problem-solving. JFS will launch its Mind Aerobics classes by offering the Mind Sharpener curriculum. This program is suitable for people with mild to no cognitive decline and no impairment.
Mind Sharpener activities were designed, and will be presented, using approaches that appeal best to adult learners. Sessions incorporate repetition and reinforcement practices to enhance learning and retention. The comfortable, cooperative learning environment promotes interactive socialization. Of course, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, JFS will lead the spring Mind Sharpener classes virtually online.
JFS will offer the first Mind Sharpener session beginning April 6, and running through June 29. Please registration online using the link below. Space is limited. The fee for this 12-week/24-sessions class is $240. Scholarships are available; no one will be turned away due to inability to pay.
