Youth and Family Services
Parents are raising their children in an increasingly complex society with issues as diverse as the individuals involved. Our social workers will work with you to develop an individualized approach to address the specific challenges you and your family face, including:

Youth in Crisis Resource and Referral Network
A growing number of families find themselves struggling to address needs that arise when a child is experiencing difficulty at home, at school, or in the community. JFS has developed the Network, a collaborative of youth-serving professionals and agencies, ready to support families facing a variety of difficulties including mental health, substance abuse, truancy, anger management, disruptive behaviors, and familial instability. Our social workers will connect you to appropriate service providers, advocate for effective services, and provide ongoing support. The Network services include:
- Crisis intervention
- Immediate & comprehensive assessment
- Timely & appropriate referrals
- Active follow-up
- Individualized, therapeutic care management
- Parent-to-Parent mentorship
- Online and onsite resource library
- Connection to the latest community & national resources
Pre and Post Adoption Support
Building a family through adoption is a journey that begins the moment you imagine it and lasts a lifetime. Our social workers will accompany you on this journey by providing initial counseling, connections to appropriate resources (including a list of home-study agencies), and follow-up services/support once the adoption is complete.
Jewish Community Outreach
This program promotes awareness of issues facing youth and families within the Jewish community and connects community members to appropriate resources. Serving both youth educators and families with youth of all ages, JFS offers support and education to congregations, religious schools, and Jewish organizations in the following ways:
- Topic-specific trainings
- Seminars and workshops
- Resource and referral network
- Case management
- Advocacy for financial assistance
